Maybe I'm being wildly optimistic here, but Adam at least seems to have a glimmer about the censorship problem -- unlike Josh.

Hi Adam,
Thank you for your response. I am going to repost it here, because I am trying to encourage other people with ideas to step forward, and I think top-lining may make that easier. You responded to my petition to end the CM2 program effective immediately. Thank you. I'll repost here:

Do you have any suggestions for improving the program instead of cutting it completely?"
Yes.
My first suggestion would be to end CM2's current moderation powers and make them identical to CM1s. We can discuss the CM1s as well, if you like, but the CM2s are an immediate problem, because their lack of transparency feeds the impression of a lack of accountability; both are problematic.
My second suggestion is to collaborate with the Community, here, on designing a program to create more effective moderation (this might be no moderation, or it might be moderation aimed more precisely at defamation). When that is done, and only then, construct and implement a program for moderation. Listen to us. Our problems are not the same as your problems, and the only way you get a community is if you come up with a compromise that the community accepts; this is not that compromise.
